A pastoral transition is an ideal time to do Vision Planning in a small church. In this model, the Pulpit Nominating Committee is also the Vision Planning Group.
Workshops in this model need a 4-6 hour time period, usually overnight. They include:
• Understanding Vision Planning and Developing Core Values
• Pulpit Committee Operating Principles and Ethical Considerations
• Qualifications and Recruiting of Pulpit Committee Members
Workshops should be held BEFORE election of a Pulpit Nominating Committee if at all possible. The ideal time is a Friday night-Saturday morning format.
WORKSHOP COSTS
As a faith-based ministry affiliated with PEF, all Metokos Ministries are available to small churches on the following basis:
• Payment of all expenses such as travel, meals, and lodging
• A one-time gift to PEF in support of Metokos Ministries (the amount to be determined by the church)
